We Never Graduate From the Gospel

by | Jun 27, 2023 | ALERT Ethos

“Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel…  For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.” 1 Corinthians 15:1-5 (ESV)

“We never graduate from the gospel,” a mentor told me. What he meant is that the gospel permeates every aspect of Christianity to its core. From the deepest theological debate to the food we eat to the care we show each other, our understanding of the gospel lies behind everything we do. May we be men and women of the Word who know the meaning of the scriptures and the importance of the truth that Christ came according to the scriptures to die for our sins, to be buried, and to rise on the third day. This is ultimately the reason why we work to forge men: because of Christ and his gospel! May this truth continually flow from our hearts and lives.

Striving for Christ,
