River Crossing Competition
Recruits in Basic Training Unit 39 receive instruction from Cpt. Keon Pendergast in preparation for the River Crossing Competition.
A squad works together to setup the river crossing rope system. The River Crossing Competition challenges each squad to improve their teamwork and speed.
Cpl. Wade Johnson, Delta’s squad leader, assists a recruit on to the rope system.
The rope system used allows an entire group of men to cross the river with only one man getting wet.
After completing each river crossing, the squad discusses what went well and what areas can be improved.
