The ALERT program may be a daunting possibility for some young men. They may feel that the personal discipline, intense physical training, or even just the mental stress of a “Boot Camp” will be too much for them to handle. Parents may have doubts about entrusting their son, and hard-earned financial resources, to total strangers.
Red Carpet Day is ALERT’s attempt to allay these concerns, as well as give young men and their fathers a vision for ministry, whether it be through a lifetime vocation or in full-time Christian service. We want to help fathers and their sons see the potential of God’s call for serving others. Each May and November, we open our doors in a special way for those considering ALERT as part of God’s plan for their life after high school.
The prospective ALERT recruits and their parents will join us for the Advancement ceremony of an ALERT Basic training. The young man and his parents have the opportunity to hear from ALERT’s Commanding Officer, and ask him questions about the ALERT vision, campus, and mission. They will also participate in a formal reception, where each of the Advanced Training officers will be able to answer any questions regarding requirements, training aspects, and certifications in their venue.
Housing is available by reservation in our Guest Lodges for Red Carpet event attendees. Each visiting family will be assigned a “host” from the ALERT battalion, who will be able to answer questions, help the family find their way to the various Red Carpet events, and sit with them at meals.
The cost of attending Red Carpet Day is: $20/person to cover brunch and the formal Advancement Dinner, $80/night for an optional guest room should you choose to stay the night.
