ALERT can provide support in four areas:
Disaster Relief
In the wake of tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, mud slides, forest fires, snow storms, etc., ALERT can assist with cleanup efforts such as:
- Tree removal
- Recovery of personal property
- Removal of mud and debris
- Emergency medicine
- Building repairs
- Ham radio communications
- Evacuation shelter logistics

Search & Rescue
ALERT is equipped to perform wilderness, underwater, and aerial searches for lost people or items.
ALERT men are trained in:
- Grid search techniques
- Land navigation
- Wilderness survival
- High-angle rescue
- Rescue Systems One (structural collapse)
- Ham Radio communications
Underwater operations include:
- Crime scene investigation
- Surveying and mapping
- Heavy underwater lifting
- Recovery of weapons, aircraft, bodies, vehicles, etc.
Community Service
Service to communities is conducted primarily on a local level in support of special events.
- Traffic control
- Music presentations
- Event cleanup
- Logistical support
- Construction
- Flag presentations
ALERT is also willing to travel to cities across the country to support city-sponsored “character initiatives.”
- Home repair for the elderly
- Construction assistance for low-income families
- City-improvement projects
Humanitarian Aid
On an international level, ALERT provides humanitarian aid in the form of:
- Improvement of living conditions
- Relocation assistance
- Food and medicine distribution
- Road repair
- Shelter construction
