Chalk Art & Ventriloquism Workshop
The International ALERT Academy in conjunction with Sinclair Ministries is excited to present dynamic Chalk Art & Ventriloquism Workshops! Students will receive teaching in four different classes: Techniques Class (beginners), Advanced Class, Special Weekend Class (for advanced students) and a Ventriloquism Class. Below you will find information regarding each specific class as well as registration and housing info. We look forward to seeing you at our workshop!
Speakers & Instructors
Larry & Freida Sinclair
Larry Sinclair has been in full time vocational evangelism for over 30 years. He and his wife, Freida, are a multi-talented couple who strive to give God all the talents He has given them.
Acclaimed as one of the best teachers of Chalk Art today, Larry has been doing Chalk Art for 24 years and teaching for 20 years. He has successfully taught ages 6 to 85. Larry believes that students attending his class will leave being able to do advanced work.
Freida Sinclair has been doing ventriloquism programs for 30 years and teaching for 18 years. Freida learned ventriloquism through a home-study course and went on to attend advanced classes.
Based in Fairfield, TX, Larry and Freida Sinclair travel the United States ministering through song, testimony, Chalk Art, ventriloquism and the preaching of God’s Word. Students of the Sinclair’s Chalk Art and Ventriloquism courses will surely be encouraged through the Sinclair’s friendliness, hearts to see souls won, and love for the Lord.
Keith Carpenter
Keith Carpenter is not only a well-known potter, sharing a “Sermon on the Potter’s Wheel” with local churches, conventions, ministry events, or in studio, he is also an active chalk art evangelist. His ministry, “Chalk One Up for the Lord”, is presented almost 60 times a year in churches across America.

Classes
Techniques Class (Beginners)
Instructor: Larry Sinclair
Larry Sinclair, one of the most sought after and well-known teachers of Chalk Art, will be the instructor for this weeklong beginner’s course. The Techniques Class is available to all ages and experience levels. No former training necessary for this class geared to those who have never held a piece of artist’s chalk, but would love to learn the powerful visual aid of Chalk Art. In past Techniques classes taught by Mr. Sinclair, the class has completed over twenty drawings. Upon completion of this short course, students will have the ability to make full presentations with invisible and pastel chalks.
Advanced Class
Instructor: Keith Carpenter
The weeklong Advanced Class is taught by Keith Carpenter, a student of chalk artists Larry Sinclair and Ding Tueling. This outstanding teacher will work with students in developing and drawing brand new pictures using both pastel and invisible chalks. This is a powerful class that every student of advanced work will be benefited by.
Special Weekend Class (for advanced students)
Instructors: Larry Sinclair & Keith Carpenter
The Special Weekend Class is for advanced students. Held prior to the start of the Advanced course, this class will especially benefit those who have ideas for new pictures but are having difficulty putting them together for presentation. Larry Sinclair and Keith Carpenter will direct this class, working together with students to develop and lay out new ideas. Each student should come with ideas for two new pictures. These development of these pictures will be completed in the weeklong class.
Ventriloquism Class
Instructor: Freida Sinclair
In sharing the Gospel, ventriloquism is a dynamic tool for capturing the attention of any audience. This weeklong class is for beginners as well as for the experienced ventriloquist. Learning the fundamentals of ventriloquism, beginners should complete this course having a “voice” and the basics needed to do a program. Even ventriloquists who are “well-seasoned” will be encouraged by added instruction and advice. Subjects will include breathing, substitute letters, and much more.
