Veterans Day Banquet & Concert
You are cordially invited to be our guest at a special banquet and concert being held at the International ALERT Academy in Big Sandy. In attendance will be many other veterans from our Armed Forces, along with public and civil servants from the surrounding communities.
It has been our privilege to receive the benefits of those who have served in our Armed Forces. Throughout all of human history, no group of people has done more good, spent more time, and expended greater sacrifices for the furtherance of freedom around the world than the American Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines. We would like to recognize and honor those who have stood strong to preserve our freedoms in the United States of America.
As members of the Emergency Services community ourselves, the ALERT Academy also has a great appreciation for those who give of themselves and risk their lives to serve our communities through the EMS, Fire, and Law Enforcement services. Though more attention has been paid to these public servants since the events of 9/11/2001, they are still often taken for granted. We want to take special notice of them and honor their service as well.
The evening will begin at 6:30 P.M. with a delicious dinner served by students from the ALERT Academy. Immediately following the banquet dinner will be an evening of patriotic songs and spiritual hymns sung by the acclaimed ALERT Men’s Chorus, ALERT Academy Choir and various ensembles and soloists.
In addition to the encouraging music, the concert features a special keynote address each year. Past speakers have included a retired Air Force Colonel, an astronaut, and our Congressman.
Last year, over 600 police officers, firefighters, Veterans, and citizens from the community attended the banquet and concert. Reservations are required, but there is no charge to attend.
To RSVP, please contact our Events Registrar at 903.636.2000 ext. 2101, or send names, birth dates, and addresses of those attending to events@alertacademy.com.
