Activities

These are just a few of the many wonderful activities we have planned for this year’s Family Camp. Please take note of the information listed, as you may need to bring your own equipment for some activities.

Plane Rides

Off we go into the wild blue yonder! Take your family out for a soaring excursion with one of our skilled aviators! This is an adventure you will not soon forget! The journey begins at Family Camp 2008! Extra charge applies.

Rappelling

Whether you pretend you are climbing Mount Everest, rescuing a person in danger or a commando on a mission, rappelling is an adventure you do not want to miss! This is an experience you will want to come back to time and time again! All necessary equipment and safety gear provided; extra charge may apply.

Archery

Step back over 100 years to times in the wild, wild west when Indians roamed the plains and knew the skills necessary to provide for their families. At the archery range, you can practice shooting just like the Indians! Take the challenge at this year’s Family Camp! Targets, bows, and arrows provided.

Rifle Range

If you would like to journey back to times in the wild, wild west when cowboys defended their herds from fierce predators, then come to the rifle range! Here you can practice shooting just like the Cowboys! Take the challenge at this year’s Family Camp! Rifles and pellets provided.

9-Hole Golf

Embassy Hills Golf Course is a family course with low green fees and special packages to accommodate play from individual golfers up to large groups and tournaments. Extra fee applies; bring your own clubs or rent some from the Pro Shop.

Confidence Course

Bring family and friends with you to “learn the ropes” at ALERT’s Low Ropes Confidence Course - Know-So-Easy Street! Need help with family communication, leadership development, and family bonding? Knot-So-Easy Street is just the ticket for great fun with a purpose!

Activities to Do on Your Own

Venture down a trail you’ve never explored before! Join your family or friends for an invigorating hike, or peaceful walk, through God’s great outdoors!

Canoeing

What could be better than paddling along on a quiet lake with friends and family and nothing but the peace of the outdoors to lull you into wonderful rest and relaxation? Absolutely nothing! So, come and spend an afternoon with us on the beautiful Lake Loma!

Bicycling

Bicycling can be a fun time for the whole family, and now with many trails over our 2,200-acre campus you are sure to not run out of room! Bike down to the lake and watch the sunset or through the rolling green hills of Texas! Please bring your own bicycles.

Fishing

Fishing on Lake Loma can be an adventure all in itself! Whether you are fishing from the bank or fishing from a boat or canoe you will love the relaxing feeling Lake Loma seems to provide! Bring your own tackle. Since Lake Loma is our source for drinking water gas motors are not allowed.
