IAA News

As we endeavor to be faithful in fulfilling God’s calling for us in this ministry, He continues to open doors of opportunity. I would like to share two of those with you.

The first has to do with another lost person search. On January 4, the day our semester began, we received another call to search for a missing woman. She had been missing since 2:30 the day before. We arrived on scene where some 50 other searchers from fire departments and law enforcement agencies were gathered with ATV’s, horses, and search dog teams. The search had been going on for more than 12 hours when we arrived. We began grid searches through the woods in the high probability areas. While some of our men were in the woods just north of where some footprints had been found, the woman was spotted from a helicopter unit. Some of our men were in close proximity (nearly under the helicopter) when the radio transmission was made. One of our medics was able to reach her and check her vitals, considering the fact that she had been out all night in freezing temperatures with only a sweatshirt and blue jeans. Praise the Lord that she was in good condition. Her brother commented to the ALERT men afterwards that when he had seen them arrive, he “had new hope.” Another man mentioned to me that the whole group was encouraged when they saw our men gather and pray before entering the woods.

The second endeavor involves a new ministry that was mentioned in a previous FE. What was at first given the name Lampstand Missions will now be known as ACCORD (Applying the Commands of Christ Over the Rulers of Darkness). This will be a missionary preparation program that will develop some of the heart-issues of life while learning skills that will be highly beneficial on any mission field. We want our students to gain confidence in knowing what they should be doing when they arrive on a mission location. Our first program is slated to begin on February 8 and will conclude on May 14. This will be for young ladies, ages 17 and up. Our next one will be for men, ages 17 and up, beginning on July 5 and concluding on October 8.

These 14 weeks of training will be a life-changing opportunity that will have a worldwide impact for the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you know of any young ladies who either desire to go on the mission field, or who would like to go through a program that will help them (and their parents) discern God’s direction for future ministry, please share this with them. We thank each of you for your continued support of God’s work in this place.
