Haiti Deployment
January 20th, 2010
ALERT men will deploy to Lake Charles, Louisiana tomorrow (Wednesday) to support the loading of supplies onto one of the ships belonging to the Friendships Ministry. On Tuesday of next week we will deploy a team of young ladies from our STEP program to replace that team and continue organizing and packaging supplies.
Approximately two weeks from now we will begin sending ALERT men on one of their ships from Miami, Florida to deliver supplies and support whatever is given them to do in Haiti. We are told that we will be doing multiple tasks that include handing out food, digging out rubble, supplying water, giving medical attention to those injured, and whatever else we may come face to face with concerning the needs of the Haitian people. We look forward to sharing the love of Christ by serving the needs of these people who have suffered the loss of family and friends.
ALERT is seeking your help. This is your opportunity to make an impact into the lives of the Haitian people through the efforts of ALERT and STEP. We cannot carry forth the work in the field without the funds to support it. To do so, would negatively impact our financial ability to continue the training and operations that cause us to be ready for these kinds of deployments.
If you would like to contribute, please send your gift to our disaster fund. These funds (which are at $0 right now) would be first of all totally dedicated to all work related to Haiti. Secondly, funds remaining at the end of our Haiti ministry, would remain in that fund to be used for future disaster relief as well as dive recovery responses, lost person searches, and other services that we provide when people are in need.
